Artists’ Garage Sale, 10am – 3pm at the Armory (Legion & Eastside). Both supplies and finished art will be available. Contact info on the city’s website.

Plant Swap, 1-3pm at the Wendell Berry Community Garden (928 Wilson St NE). Bring your extra starts to swap!

Living Library, 12:30-4:30 pm at the downtown Library (8th & Franklin). Take the time to engage in a 30-minute conversation with people you might not otherwise meet. More info on the library’s website.

And on Sunday, May 31:

Courthouse Girls of Farmland, noon – 1pm at Capitol Theater. The last film of May’s Historic Preservation Film Festival. Don’t miss this award-winning documentary about a small town, historic preservation, and seven senior women who got up from their bridge table to make a bold and controversial statement. A story with heart that bares the soul…and a little bit more!

Announcement signs!

Looking west This month we put out brand new signs to let neighbors know the time and location of the general meeting. You’ll be seeing these signs before future ENA events, including general meetings and the annual picnic. If you want to host a sign, let us know and we’ll get you one to put in your yard.

Board Meeting

The board of directors for the Eastside Neighborhood Association meets the third Thursday of most months. (Usually we skip August and/or December.)

Agendas are published on this site and sent by email no less than 2 days before the meeting. Minutes are published as soon as they are available; often right at the end of the meeting.

September’s Board Meeting will be held at the Swantown Inn. Agenda will include: Fall newsletter & general meeting; picnic follow-up; tool-sharing project; and Camp Quixote. Representatives of United Methodist Church and Camp Quixote will be invited.

November meeting location: we will be meeting at the home of Bev Kooi, 1609 7th Ave SE. [November agenda]

Spring Garden Walk

The Spring Garden Walk has been rescheduled to Sunday, May 24. We’ll be meeting up at 2 pm to tour a few neighborhood gardens, with a walk of just under 2 miles.

We’ll be starting at 1410 5th Ave SE, join us there at 2 pm for our first garden, along with some snacks!
