May General Meeting

The May general meeting will be held on Thursday, May 21 at 7 pm at the Light & Life Church.

Folks from the Library and the Parks Dept will be on hand to present, plus we’ll have our usual Open Mic segment. That’s your chance to share what’s on your mind about the Eastside.

As always, there’ll be coffee and snacks. Hope to see you there!

Eastside Garden Walk Sunday March 8

Due to weather conditions, we will not be holding the 2nd Garden Walk today, March 8. We will try to reschedule for later in the spring.

We’ll be holding the 2nd Eastside Garden Walk this Sunday at 2pm, visiting 5 gardens in the neighborhood. The starting point is Kirk & Ellen Hanson’s at 1410 5th Ave, with hot cider and snacks, and we’ll be ending on Frederick near 7th, with a total walking distance (one-way) of approximately .8 miles.

If you have questions about the Garden Walk, or would like to volunteer your garden for a future event, please let me know!

Winter Garden Neighborhood Walk! – Sunday, December 7th 2 – 5:00 pm

You are invited to come on this friendly walk as together we answer the question” what do I do with my garden in the winter?” Possible topics include composting, mulching, growing winter greens, putting the garden to sleep, and more! Please come regardless of knowledge our skill!

We will begin at Tim and Heather’s place at 2:00 on December 7th; 1815 5th Ave SE (small green house with garden out front near Fir and 5th) from there, we will wander through the neighborhood and discuss different approaches to small scale gardening at selected “host” homes.

If you would like to act as a “host” and include your small garden in the process please come or call Tim at 754-1556. If you would like to just come and walk and add your thoughts please do! Please dress warmly and see you then!
