Lions Park public meeting

The City of Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department will be holding a public meeting about upgrades to Lions Park tomorrow, Tuesday May 25, at 6:30pm. The meeting will be at the Light & Life Church on 7th & Fairview. Parks staff will be sharing proposed changes to the park, including shelter and playground equipment changes.

Garden Walk

Join us at the next Eastside Garden Walk on Sunday, April 11. We’ll be checking out neighborhood gardens, talking about gardening, and enjoying a leisurely walk.

We’re starting at 707 Sawyer Street at 1:30. There will maps and signs. We should be finishing at approximately 3:30 or 4pm. The route is ½ mile long with no hills.

If you have questions, contact Heather Hansen at [email protected].

Lions Park Volunteers in Parks

There will be a volunteer work party (mulching, weeding, picking up limbs, etc) at Lions Park this Saturday, February 27th, from 9am to noon. Dress for the weather (rain is forecast), wear sturdy shoes and bring work gloves.  Refreshments will be provided.

Volunteers 14-17 must have  written, parental permission, while those under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.

If you have questions, contact Todd Smith, Parks, Arts and Recreation, 360-753-8365.

Imagine Olympia Community Meeting

From the city’s website:

“Interested in gathering with community members to discuss shared priorities? We’ll be hosting six community meetings focused around small group discussions that bring together an array of viewpoints. From these conversations we’ll have deeper insight into the shared goals of residents as we develop the scope for the Comprehensive Plan update. We would like to accommodate as many folks as possible so we encourage you to attend just one meeting.”

A meeting will be held in the Knox Building at Legion & Eastside on Thursday, February 11 at 6:30pm. Please attend if you are interested in future city planning!
