The Eastside Neighborhood Association developed the Subarea Plan from August 2017 to December 2019. It was approved by the City Council on January 14, 2020.
Subarea Plans are identified as a project for neighborhoods in the Olympia Comprehensive Plan. The first Subarea Plan was completed by the Olympia Northeast Neighborhood Association prior to the ENA Plan. ONNA includes five neighborhoods. The ENA Subarea Plan is the second Plan done by City neighborhoods. Unlike the ONNA Subarea Plan, our Subarea Plan includes only the Eastside Neighborhood.
The ENA Subarea Plan document includes the Purpose of the Plan, Consistency with the City Comprehensive Plan, description of the Public Participation and Plan Development, the Eastside Subarea description, 66 Action Items (starting on page 11), and several Exhibits and Maps.
The 66 Action Items are included in the following four Action Plans:
- Housing, Density, Growth, and Neighborhood Character
- Public Works, Services, and Infrastructure
- Crime Prevention and Safety Enhancement
- Community Connections
Beginning in January 2020, the ENA and its Subarea Plan Core Team began working on implementation of the Action Plan recommendations. Please take a look at the recommendations and see if there are items you see that you would to work on along with the ENA Board and the Core Team.
