Imagine Olympia – High Density Corridors

A focus meeting about the future of Olympia’s High Density Corridors will be held on Monday, November 8, 6:30 – 9:00 pm at the Ramada Inn, 4520 Martin Way E. (Map link)

This meeting will focus on Eastside’s corridors: Martin Way, Pacific Avenue, State Avenue, and Fourth Avenue. The Comprehensive Plan vision is for some areas of the corridors to gradually change from being dominated by strip commercial development into mixed use, high density areas. Come to the meeting to share your thoughts about the development of these areas over the coming years. See
the Imagine Olympia website for more information.

Meetings on neighborhood planning & environmental stewardship will be held in January and February of 2011.

Lions Park Cleanup

Volunteers are needed Saturday by the city of Olympia to help weed flower beds and clean up Lions Park from 9 a.m.-noon.

After the work is done, children are encouraged to stay and play on the recently installed playground equipment. Volunteers should plan to meet at 800 Wilson St. S.E., Olympia. Tools, gloves and refreshments will be provided.

The event is part of the Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department’s Volunteer In Parks series of work parties. Each Saturday morning, volunteers improve a local park. Volunteers also will help maintain the trail and plant new trees and shrubs at Mission Creek Nature Park from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 23.

Volunteers can register or just show up. Contact Sylvana Niehuser at 360-753-8365 or sn******@***********wa.us for more information.
