Hello Eastside Neighbors!

Once again, the Eastside Neighborhood Association (ENA) will be sponsoring Holiday caroling. The caroling will take place on Friday, December 20th. We’ll have a potluck from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Swantown Inn & Spa (11th and Central) and leave from there at 6:00 to sing at Oly Lightstravaganza and other homes in the area.

The singing will last for about an hour, but people should feel free to join us at any time or leave anytime. We will provide song lyrics on paper and downloadable on our ENA website so that you can put them on your cellphone. Bring a flashlight if you want to use the paper lyrics. Flashlights will also help make the walking safer. We’ll mainly be singing songs that are secular, such as Let It Snow and Jingle Bells—songs the little ones might already know!

For the potluck, bring snacks if you can. If you can’t, you are still welcome to join the potluck gathering. Some snacks will be provided by our hosts and the ENA.

Please join us at the potluck and the caroling! We wish you Happy Holidays!

City Council Candidate Forum

This Forum has been cancelled. Click here for more details.

The CNA is sponsoring two candidate forums for the upcoming City Council elections — one on the eastside and the other on the westside. We have created a SurveyMonkey to gather questions from neighborhood residents. Please share the survey link below as best you see fit (ie, email distribution, neighborhood list serve, NextDoor, etc.) The plan is to keep the survey open until the 18th.

Eastside Neighbor-Tainment Variety Show

Saturday, June 1st, 3 to 5 p.m.

At Salvation Army Worship Center on 4th & Central

The Eastside and Bigelow Highlands neighborhood associations are sponsoring a family-friendly variety show that will be held on Saturday, June 1st from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Salvation Army Worship Center on 4th and Central. The doors will open at 2:30.

This is called the Eastside Neighbor-Tainment Variety Show. We want to bring neighbors together to create cohesiveness, unity, and connections in our neighborhoods, and make our City a happier and safer place to live.

Come to the show and you will see and hear performers of various ages doing poetry, piano-playing, guitar-playing, singing, and more. Our intention is to include a wide variety of performances that will appeal to people of all ages. It’s not a competition, just an afternoon of entertainment.

Anyone is welcome to attend and the event is free. In addition to performances, the program will include break time with refreshments and an opportunity for neighbors to get to know one another, and a sing-along.

We expect it to be a fun and well-attended event. Please join us. And feel free to bring along family and friends.

By the way, we still have a couple performance slots open. If you want to perform, send an e-mail to Roger Horn at [email protected].

Hope you can make it! Thanks!!!
